Take-Ii has cancelled a $53 million dollar unpredicted project that, reportedly, would have been a new game from Hangar 13.

The selective information of the cancellation—only not what information technology was for—came in the companionship's second gear quarter earnings report for 2022. Tucked within the financial highlights section was the following: "Cost of goods sold enclosed a $53 million impairment agitate related to the Fellowship's determination non to proceed with further development of an unexpected style in its line."

Reported to Bloomberg, this incomprehensible picture was supposedly a new game from Mafia 3 and Mafia: Definitive Edition developers Hangar 13. Citing people familiar with the decision, Codename Volt had apparently been in development since 2017. Supposedly, it was to be a brand-new live-service third person action halt featuring superheroes.

While further details are sketchy, sources speaking to Kotaku claimed Volt would feature three-participant carbon monoxide gas-op. They also say it would feature 'arcadey' action, with tank, therapist and DPS roles. The cite came from an idea that enemies could supposedly blend to make more fearsome foes, ala Voltron.

Though it didn't confirm the game itself, 2K did provide a assertion to Kotaku confirming the studio affected. "Hangar 13's latest project was creatively ambitious and tickling. When we pursue newfound intellectual properties, we at times may encounter situations that call for cancellation."

"We have full confidence in Repair shed 13's leadership and development team and believe that they butt and will deliver critical and commercial successes in the future. Airdock 13's leading is workings nearly with 2K to ensure that Hangar 13 team up members stay on to do pregnant work, either as part of Airdock 13 or on one of our other development teams."

The studio previously teased it's adjacent game would non equal Mafia connected back in March of 2020. Hopefully, all affected find their feet.
